72 Monday January, 13, 1834

Petition of Simeon Perkins to be exempted from military duty; read and referred to the Committee on the Militia. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.

Mr. Tobin from the Joint Select Committee to whom was referred the petition of the Committee of the town of Pittsfield, reported order of notice on said petition which was read and accepted. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.

The Committee on the Judiciary reported leave to withdraw on petition of sundry inhabitants of Prospect, which report came up from the House accepted for concurrence. Concurred.

Bill further in addition to incorporate the Maine Stage Company, reported by Mr. Smith from the Committee on Manufactures on petition of Israel Waterhouse and others, was read a first and second time and passed to be engrossed. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.

Resolve in favor of Jabez Bradbury, laid upon the table by Mr. Cogswell, was read once and tomorrow at ten o'clock assigned for a second reading.

On motion for Mr. Emmons, ordered, that the Joint Standing Committee on the Judiciary be instructed to enquire into the expediency of prohibiting the admission of minors to practice law in the Court of Common Pleas and Supreme Judicial Court in this State. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred. Resolve in favor of Elliot G. Vaughn, read a second time and passed to be engrossed. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.
