Thursday, January 23, 1834.

Remonstrance of the town of Dixfield, " of the inhabitants of Chesterville, " of Selectmen of New Portland, against the formation of a new county, Petition of the Selectmen of Calais for half shire town were severally read and referred to the Committee on Division & alteration of Counties in concurrence.

Remonstrance of Philo Lewis and others against the petition of A. Curtis and others for a Boom Corporation, Petition of William Pike and others for a turnpikes in Calais, " of Nathaniel Merrill and others for authority to open a Canal to connect the Great and Little Sebago Ponds severally read and referred to the Committee on Turnpikes, Bridges and Canals,

Petition of David A. Gove and others to abolish the Court of Common Pleas, read and referred to the Committee that have the subject of Broad rimmed Wheels under consideration in concurrence.

Remonstrance of James Stackpole, and others against the petition of Greenlief White and others, read and referred to the Committee that have that subject under consideration, in concurrence.

The Committee on Literature and Literary Institutions, reported leave to withdraw on petitions of sundry inhabitants of Otsfield to be incorporated into a Society to be called "Otisfield Library Society", read and accepted in concurrence.
