Tuesday, February 25th, 1834.

Petition of Robert M.N. Smyth and others for a Canal from Bangor to Orono, read and referred to the Committee on Turnpikes, Bridges and Canals, in concurrence.

Petition of Benjamin Smith and others, inhabitants of the town of Bremen, praying that said town may be annexed to the town of Bristol as formerly, read and referred to the Committee on Division of Towns, in concurrence.

Order from the House of Representatives directing the Committee on the Judiciary to inquire into the expediency of passing a law requiring unincorporated plantations to be taxed for the support of primary schools in their respective plantations with leave to report by Bill or otherwise, read and passed in concurrence.

Resolve in favor of Peleg Mitchell was read once and referred to the Committee on Claims, in concurrence.

The Committee on Turnpikes, Bridges & Canals reported notice to next Legislature on petition of John Creighton & others, read and accepted in concurrence.

Bill to incorporate the Emerson Sluice Company came up from the House recommitted with instructions to report a statement of facts. The Senate reconsider their vote of the 21st inst. passing said Bill to be engrossed and recommit the same in concurrence.
