A message form the Governor informing both Branches of the Legislature of the resignation of Major General Samuel Moore of the Seventh Division, and that a vacancy now exists in the office of Major General of the Seventh Division of the Militia of this State; read and ordered to lie on the table.

A Resolve respecting the building of a Jail in the county of York, came up from the House, read once and Monday next at eleven o'clock assigned for a second reading.

Petition of Rufus R. Page and sundry inhabitants of the town of Hallowell for a law prohibiting the obstruction of the channel of the Kennebec River, read & referred to the committee that have under consideration so much of the Governors message as relates to Internal Improvement, in concurrence.

On motion of Mr. Bridgham, the Senate reconsider their vote whereby they passed to be engrossed "Bill to incorporate the East Machias and Machias Port Bridge Company" and order that a message be sent to the House of Representatives informing them of said reconsideration, requesting their concurrence and the return of said Bill and accompanying papers to the Senate.
