On motion of Mr Randall, the Senate reconsider the vote whereby they passed to be engrossed the Bill to change the names of certain persons, amend the same and lay it on the table.

Bill to incorporate the Augusta Charitable Mechanic Association, came from the House further amended. The Senate recede from the vote whereby they passed said Bill to be engrossed, adopt the amendment of the House and pass the same to be engrossed as further amended in concurrence.

Resolve in favor of the Westbrook Seminary read a second time, and the question on passing the same to be engrossed, being ordered to be taken by Yeas and Nays, was decided in the affirmative as follows: Yeas, Messrs Bradbury Burnham Cogswell Cobb Davee Drummond Emerson Gibson Herrick Howard Keith McLellan Read Smith and Webb 15 Nays. Bill in addition to an act authorizing the sale of the School Lands in the town of New Gloucester to raise a fund for the support of schools in said town, and for appointing Trustees for those purposes. Read a second time and committed to Messrs. Scammon Cobb and Warren
