Bill to set off a part of the town of Hallowell, and annex the same to the town of Gardiner; came from the House, the House nonconcurring the Senate in reference of said Bill to the next Legislature and passing the same to be engrossed; and the question on receding and passing the same to be engrossed in concurrence, being ordered to be taken by Yeas and Nays, was decided in the negative as follows. Yeas. Messrs. Cobb Emerson Howard Pease Smith Webb Williamson 7 Nays. Messrs Boutelle Bradbury Burnham Davee Drummond Gibson Hunton Herrick Keith McLellan Read Scammon Talbot and Warren 14 and the Senate insist upon their former vote referring the same to the next Legislature. Sent down for concurrence.

The Secretary of State laid on the table a written message from the Governor, which was read and together with the accompanying Document, referred to the joint Select Committee who have under consideration certain Resolutions from the State of Georgia. Sent down for concurrence.
