the act of June 27, 1820, relating to the introduction of Paupers from foreign parts, as that vessels and owners of vessels shall be liable in the same way as is provided by that Act for masters of vessels; and also to inquire into the expediency of so amending it, as that the penalty provided by it shall go, one half to the prosecutors & one half to the towns. Sent up for concurrence.

On motion of Mr. Potter of Augusta, Ordered, That the Committee on the Judiciary be instructed to inquire into the expediency of adopting some some Legislative enactments, in relation to the importation and immigration of foreign paupers, and also if it should be deemed expedient to memorialize Congress upon the same subject. Sent up for concurrence.

On motion of Mr. Morrill of Limerick, Ordered, That the Committee on the Judiciary be instructed to inquire into the expediency of repealing an act entitled An additional act respecting Registers of Probate approved Jany 29th 1834 - also an act entitled an additional act to increase the salary of the Register of Probate in the County of Somerset approved Feb 7 1834 - also an act entitled an additional act establishing salaries for Judges and Registers of Probate approved February 26, 1834. Sent up for concurrence.

On motion by Mr. Morrill of Limerick, Ordered, That the Committee on the Judiciary be instructed to inquire into the expediency of so amending the act providing for the appointment of County Commissioners by the Governor & Council that said Commissioners may hereafter be chosen by the people in their several Counties. Sent up for concurrence.
