The Committee upon the subject of establishing Salaries for County Attornies, Treasurers & Register of Deeds, reported that legislation thereon is inexpedient - and the report was accepted in concurrence with the Senate.
Bill - to incorporate the Proprietors of Canton Point Bridge reported on the petition of Joseph Holland & others, was read 1st & 2nd time & tomorrow at 10 o'clock assigned for a 3d reading.
Bill - an additional Act to increase the Salary of the Register of Probate for the County of Penobscot, was read a third time & passed to be engrossed in concurrence with the Senate.
Bill - an additional act directing the method of laying out & making provision for the repair & amendment of highways, reported in this House by the committee on the order of the 14th inst, was read 1st & 2d times & tomorrow at 10 o'clock assigned for a 3rd reading.
Mr. Jewett of Portland has leave of absence after today during the remainder of the week.
Bill - an act to establish a Municipal Court in the town of Hallowell, was read a 3rd time, amended as on sheet annexed marked R and passed to be engrossed as amended. Sent up for concurrence.
Resolve in favor of Israel Davis & Jacob M. Russell, was read a 2nd time and passed to be engrossed in concurrence with the Senate.
