� 38.01 -- Board of Internal Improvement. [underlined] Created by R. 1834, c. 28.

Duties -- explore and examine the great water courses of the State where it may be supposed that canals, roads, railroads, or other internal improvements may be made to benefit the State; also conduct the geological sur-vey.

Members -- Governor, Land Agent and 3 of intelligence, integrity, and sound judgment appointed by the Governor with advice and consent of the Council. Membership changed in 1835 to include Governor, members of the Council, and the Land Agent.

38.02 -- Auditors to Investigate the Unsettled Accounts of the State Lottery. [underlined] Created by R. 1835, c. 38.

Duties -- examine the books of the managers of the lottery granted for the encouragement of steam navigation in this State to determine what sums are due from said managers to the State.

Members -- 2 appointed by the Governor with advice of the Coun-cil.

38.03 -- Board of Portland Harbor Commissioners. [underlined] Created by P. & S. L. 1856, c. 654. Repealed and replaced by P. & S. L. 1917, c. 192.

Duties -- supervise control of receiving basins and reservoirs in said harbor; establish harbor lines and rules for harbor master to enforce; prohibit any erection, incumberance or material to be deposited in the harbor which may obstruct the flow and ebb of the waters.

Members -- 3 appointed by the Governor with advice and con-sent of the Council, 1856-1917, 4, 2 of whom shall be chosen by present boards of Harbor Commissioners of Port-land and South Portland, 1917--.
