Remonstrance of the town of Phipsburgh against the petition of Greenleaf White and others to build a Dam across the Kennebec River at or near Augusta, read and referred to the Committee that have that subject under consideration. Sent down for concurrence.

The message of the Governor of the 13th inst. in relation to an act of the General Assembly of Pennsylvania together with a Resolution of that State, upon the subject of the abolition of Lotteries. Also copies of sundry documents and a law of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts on the same subject was taken up and referred to the Committee on the Judiciary. Sent down for concurrence.

A communication was received from the Secretary of State in compliance with a Resolve passed February 27. 1833, entitled "Resolve for ascertaining the expense of making and repairing Roads and Bridges within this State," transmitting copies of a list of the returns made by the officers of the several towns and plantations and the City of Portland, specifying in seperate [separate] columns, against the respective names of said towns, plantations and City, the amount expended in labor and cash for making, repairing, and maintaining Roads & Bridges during four years, ending on the 31st day of December 1832; read and referred to the Joint Select Committee prescribing the mode of making and repairing highways. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.
