Bill to incorporate the "Belfast Fishing Company" reported in the House by the Committee on Interior Fisheries, on the petition of Peter H. Smith, was read once, and on motion of Mr. Manning laid on the table, and ordered that three hundred copies be printed for the use of the Legislature.

The Committee on Divisions of Towns, reported leave to withdraw on petition of the inhabitants of Placentia Island; read and accepted in concurrence.

The Committee on the Judiciary reported leave to withdraw on petition of John Hanly; read & accepted in concurrence.

The same Committee to which was referred an Order respecting a Board of Jurisprudence, reported that legislation on the subject is inexpedient. Read and accepted in concurrence.

Bill to incorporate the Orrington Canal and Railway Company, reported in the House by the Committee on Turnpikes, Bridges, and Canals, on petition of Samuel Thatcher and others, was read once, and on motion of Mr. Bradbury, laid on the table, and ordered that two hundred and fifty copies be printed for the use of the Legislature.

On motion of Mr. Groton, Ordered, that a message be sent to the House of Representatives, proposing a Convention of the two Branches of the Legislature in the Representatives Hall, on Wednesday, the twelfth instant, at eleven o'clock in the forenoon, for the purpose of choosing by joint ballot, a Treasurer of State for the coming political year; which message was delivered by the Secretary.
