Orders as may be deemed necessary Read and passed and Messrs Clarks, Severance and Puriton are joined in concurrence.

On motion of Mr Greene. Ordered, that the Messenger of the Senate be authorized to employ some suitable person to remove the railing in the rear of seats in the Senate Chamber numbered 12, 15 and 14, 16.

Mr Talbot from the Committee to which were referred the returns of votes for Senators, given in the several towns and plantations in this State, having attended to the duties assigned them, reported, that in the towns included in the First Senatorial District, or District of York, the whole number of votes legally and constitutionally returned is --- 18383 Necessary to a choice 3064 Alexzander McIntire has 3779 Nathaniel Clark " 3775 Frederic Greene " 3783 and are elected.

In the town included on the Second Senatorial District, or District of Cumberland the whole number of votes legally and constitutionally returned is --- 29511 Necessary to a choice -- 2689 Josiah Pierce has 4254 Tobuas Purinton " 4340 Eliah Latham " 4333 Nathaniel G. Jewett " 4333 and are elected.
