120 Petition of the Selectmen of Bingham praying the Legislature to give said town the land therein to be appropriated by them in their corporate capacity to the use of Schools in said town - severally read and referred to the Committee on the Judiciary, in concurrence

 A communication was received from the Secretary of State submitting the official statements received from "Kennebec County Agricultural Society "and the Cumberland Agricultural and Horticultural Society" in the month of January last - read and referred to the Committee on Agriculture.
 Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.
Mr Emmons, from the Committee on the Judiciary, reported leave to withdraw on petition of the Selectmen of New Sharon and petition of the town of Norridgewock - read and accepted.

 A communication was received from the Secretary of State, laying before the Legislature copies of a list of the returns made to the Secretary office according to the provisions of the Resolve for ascertaining the number and expense of supporting the Poor throughout the State, which was read and committed to the Joint Select Committee that have so much of the Governor's message under consideration as relates to pauperism. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.
 A message was received from the Governor that a vacancy now exists in the office of Major General of the eighth Division of the Militia of this State - read and Sent down.
