22 declared duly elected Councillors - The Convention then proceeded to the election by ballot of a Secretary of State - The whole number of ballots given in was One hundred & ninety three necessary to constitute an election ninety seven - Asaph R Nichols had one hundred & forty eight Nathaniel D Appleton forty one - Asa Redington Junr one & there were three Blanks and Asaph R Nichols of Augusta was declared elected.

An order came from the Senate directing the Secretary of State to notify Jabez Bradbury, William Dunn, Seth Labareee, John Burnham, Joseph Johnson, Charles Greene & Timothy Pillsbury that they have ben duly elected Councillors to advise the Governor in the Executive Department of the Government the current political year and request their immediate attendance and the House concurred.

And then the House adjourned.
