The same Committee to which was referred an order of February 19th relating to the support of the Poor in plantations reported that Legislation on that subject is inexpedient, read and accepted, in concurrence.

Bill to incorporate the town of Naples came up from the House of Representatives amended. The Senate recede from their vote passing said Bill to be engrossed, adopt the amendments proposed by the House and pass the same to be engrossed as thus amended, in concurrence.

The further consideration of the Bill to incorporate the Kennebec Dam Company was resumed and while the same was under consideration, On motion of Mr. Prescott, ordered that when the Senate adjourn, they adjourn to meet again at three o'clock in the afternoon, and The Senate accordingly

Afternoon. A message was received from the House of Representatives, informing the Senate that Mr Pierce of Portland was added to the Committee that have under consideration the subject of Inspection of Lime and Lime Casks in lieu of Mr. Morrell of Westbrook who has leave of absence.
