Resolve providing for the purchase of the two first Volumes of the Laws of Maine came up from the House of Representatives indefinitely postponed. The Senate nonconcur the House in the indefinite postponement of said Resolve and insist on their vote passing the same to be engrossed. Sent down for concurrence.
Preamble and Resolve, (laid on the table by Mr Prescott) in relation to alteration of Counties were taken up and referred to a select Committee of this Board consisting of Messrs. Cobb, Prescott and Tobin.
The vacancy in the several Committees occasioned by the resignation of Mr Farnsworth was filled as follows, to wit; Mr Porter on Turnpikes, Bridges & Canals, Mr Cobb, on Literature and Literary Institutions & Mr Tobin on State Lands.
Mr Porter from the Joint Select Committee reported leave to withdraw on petition of the Committee of the town of Pittsfield, read and accepted. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.
The Senate reconsider their vote of yesterday whereby they passed to be engrossed "Resolve proposing an amendment to the Constitution of this State", amend the same and pass said Resolve to be engrossed as thus amended. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.
