Petition of William D Williamson & others to be incorporated by the name of the People's Bank of Bangor was read & referred to the committee on Banks & Banking in concurrence with the Senate.

Mr Humphrey of Gorham called for the order of the 16 day the question being "Shall the order pass in concurrence with the Senate" on the order from the Senate respecting the choice of United States Senator [see preceeding page} and the question was decided in the affirmative by yeas & nays as follows viz Yeas 80 - Nays 68 - [See appendix page 365]

Mr Chase of Sebec on leave obtained, laid upon the Speakers table, Bill - establishing a Supreme Judicial Court within this State and for other purposes, was read 1st and 2nd time & on motion by Mr Cilley of Thomaston ordered to lie on the table & that six hundred copies thereof be printed for the use of the members.

Petition of Amos Decker & others praying that townships No. 2 & 3 - 3rd range east of Kennebec River, Bingham Purchase may be incorporated as a town by the name of Benton, was read & referred to the committee on the incorporation of towns in concurrence with the Senate.

Petition of the Proprietors of the Bangor house for liberty to purchase lands, was read and referred to the Committee on the Judiciary in concurrence with the Senate.
