152 Thursday, February 4th, 1836

 Order from the House of Representatives instructing the Committee on Literature and Literary Institutions to ascertain whether School Commissioners have been appointed in pursuance of a Resolve, approved March 24th, 1835, and if so whether there has been a compliance with that duly - read and passed in concurrence.

Order from the House of Representatives instructing the Committee on the Militia to inquire into the expediency of providing by law that Musicians, Field and Staff Officers who shall appear and perform military duly on days of inspection and review of arms as by law required, shall receive the same compensation as Soldiers and Company officers are now entitled to by the 28th section of the Militia law, passed March 8th 1834 read and passed in concurrence.

Order from the House of Representatives instructing the Committee on the Judiciary to inquire into the expediency of establishing a law so to regulate the election of Representatives, that all contested Elections of Representatives, that all contested Elections of Representatives shall in future be decided in the Districts where such Representatives shall be chosen and that the person producing credentials signed by the Selectmen of Towns and Assessors of Plantations as the case may be, and attested by their respective Town of Plantation Clerks shall be conclusive evidence that such Representative is legally chosen; and no person shall be allowed to hold a seat in this House
