Purinton, Severance, Spear, Staples, Swift, Talbot

  and Weeks __________________________ 18
  The 4th Resolve, "That in Maine the discussion of

the question of Slavery having been arrested by the de- cided expression of public disapprobation, and no ab- olition paper being printed within the borders of the State, legislation on the subject is inexpedient," passed in the affirmative as follows, to wit:

  Yeas. Messrs. Clark Fish, Frye, Jarvis, Jew-

ett, McIntire, Merrow, Miller, Pierce, Purring- ton, Spear, Staples, Swift, Talbot and Weeks 15

  Nays. Messrs. Benson, Greene and Severance 3.
  The 5th Resolve "That the Governor be requested

to forward a copy of this Report and these Resolutions to the Executive of North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, and Virginia and to each of the other States with a request that they be communicated to their respective Legislatures", passed in the affirmative as follows, to wit;
