Bill to increase the Capital Stock of the Maine Bank, reported in the House by the Committee on Banks and Banking, on petition of Maine Bank -"- to increase the Capital Stock of the Bank of Portland (reported in the House by the same Committee, on petition of the Bank of Portland) severally read once, and on motion of Mr. Barnard, ordered to lie on the table.
Mr. Tobin, from the Committee on Turnpikes, Bridges and Canals, reported notice to next Legislature on petition of Jacob Southwick and others, and leave to withdraw on petition of James Greely and others - read and accepted. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.
Mr. Emmons, from the Committee on the Judiciary reported leave to withdraw on petition of Selectmen of Bingham, and on petition of Alexander Read; and legislation inexpedient on an order relative to fees of witnesses at a Justice Court -- read and accepted. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.
Bill to set off a part of Starks and annex the same to Mercer came up -- The House insist on their former vote passing said Bill to be engrossed. The Senate recede from their vote indefinitely postponing the same, and pass said Bill to be engrossed, in concurrence.
