Bill constituting Ellsworth the shire town of Hancock County came up from the House referred to the next Legislature. The Senate reconsider their vote of the 9th of February last passing said Bill to be engrossed, and refer the same in concurrence.

Resolve further providing for the promulgation of the laws of the State was taken up, read the second time and indefinitely postponed. Sent down for concurrence.

Bill to incorporate the Maine Farmers Loan and Trust Company was taken up, read the second time and referred to the next Legislature. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.

Bill concerning Stud Horses was read the second time, and the same, on motion of Mr. Severance was ordered to lie on the table.

Bill to increase the Capital Stock of the Mercantile Bank was read the second time and amended. And the question of passing the same to be engrossed as amended was decided by yeas and nays in the affirmative, as follows, to wit: Yeas. Messrs. Fish, Frye, Jarvis, Jewett, Johnson, Kelsey, Mantor, Merrow, Pierce, Robinson, Severance, Strickland, Talbot and Weeks, 14. Nays. Messrs. Allen, Clark, Greene, Latham, McIntire, Miller, Purrington, Spear, Staples & Swift, 10. Sent down for concurrence.

Bill allowing additional pay to the Justices of the Supreme Judicial Court was read the second time. Mr. Merrow moved to postpone the same indefinitely; and the question of indefinite postponement.
