Friday, March 18, 1836 [underlined] Order from the House of Representative, in structing the Committee on the Judiciary to inquire into the expediency of taking measures to ascertain accurately the State of pauperism in this State -- read and passed in concurrence.

Order from the House of Representative appointing, Messrs Foster of Pembroke, Mildram of Wells, Strudivant of Cumberland, Doane of Orrington, Parris of Buckfield, Eastman of Strong, Sewall of Bath, Milliken of Lincolnville, Noyes of Trenton, and Paine of Hallowell a Committee with such as the Senate may join, to inquire what measure, if any, is necessary to improve our primary schools, - read and passed , and Messrs Johnson, Staples and Weeks are joined in concurrence.

Mr. Greene, from the Committee on the Judiciary, reported Legislation inexpedient on an order relative to another term of the Supreme Judicial Court in Washington County -- Read and accepted Send down for concurrence. Concurred.

The Committee on Interior Waters, reported reference to next Legislature on petition of Samuel G. Foster and others -- read and accepted, in concurrence.

The senate, on motion of Mr. Merrow, so far dispense with the eighth rule as to reconsider the vote whereby they accepted the report on an order relative to enlarging the powers of Judges of Probate, and recommit the same. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.
