Friday, 17. I had my leg cut open this morning and had a piece of bone taken out. The bullet still remains in my leg.

July, Saturday, 18. 1863. Draft in New Haven let. to day.

Monday, 20. My wound is not doing so well as it was before the Doctor opperated on it. it is very sore, and pains me severly.
