Georgetown 10th . March 1794

Sir,

The resignation by Brigadier Gen. Dearborn of his command in the militia having been announced by the present Commander in Chief to General Lithgow: The General therefore desires that you would issue the requisite notification to the several Field Officers of the Brigade to meet for the purpose of electing some person to fill up the vacancy occasion'd by the said resignation. The plan will be Wiscasset point and the time early in May. The Seignor Officer present to preside at the election: The Seigniority to be determined by the date of Commissions and when the dates are the same it will be determined by the number of the Regiments.
