[Penciled at top of page:] 2 Fairfield Petition Nov. 4, 1820

To William King Governor of the State of Maine, & his Hon. Council, -

The subscribers respectfully represent that it is highly necessary there should be a Coroner appointed & commissioned for the towns of Saco & Biddeford in the county of York; that there is none at this time; that in our opinion one would be sufficient for both towns; that they are well acquainted with the character & capacity of Capt. Seth S. Fairfield [of] Biddeford; they therefore recommend him [as] a suitable person to fill said office, and request that he may be appointed to the same -
