I return the tracing with thanks for your thoughtfulness in sending it along with the print. The Surry [?] study strikes me as a remarkable piece of work, & hardly to be expected. I had to get used to the queer spelling of the names. It is on my mind to have a look at the Aubery mss. soon; if the sheets are not large it ought not to cost very much to photostat it, if permitted. I had a bit of looking up done in Portland once, looking for anything, with no report about that item, which at that time would have excited me much.
It was a treat to have you here. It will help me peck along on the things I've been at. The other day I took a sort of list of my working plans over to the Peabody Museum & asked if they wanted it when I quit, without being at all sure they would, but they snapped at it.
