"The Destruction of the Mohawks at Grand Falls" by Lieut Col Baird (1882)

Related by Joe Sebattis a Maliceet many years before to the writer. He called it the first descent [two underlined] of the hated Mohawks on the river St John. Baird says he has seen a Maliceet jump [one underlined] at the sudden utterance the name Mohawk. Mohawks fought the Maliceets [one struck through] Micmacs on the Atlantic coast of St Lawrence & were victims but were slower to come down the St John -
