Sir,

At our Term of the Court of Com. Pleas held at Machias a few days ago, we saw the necessity of having our Court of Sessions Full we had a consultation on this subject and by reason of there being so many contending interests in our County, tho't best to advise the appointment of three more Justices of the Sessions for said County, (presuming Leml Trescott to have resigned) and agreed to recommend Moses Fuller of Lubec, Joseph Whitney of Calais, and Peter Talbot of Machias as persons best calculated to give satisfaction to the different Sections of the County & Justice Bolkam to be chief Justice,

There will then be three Republicans Thos. Ruggles who is well disposed toward the Government (& I think a Republican) and one Federalist, (Mr. Talbot) but if you should think best not to appointment three, Moses Fuller will best fill Mr.Trescotts place, and as the Said Court of Sessions will meet in December next
