The solicitude which you feel for my department, will I trust furnish an appology for the daily drafts I am making upon your time. Be assured that I shall consider it the most friendly service you can render me to speak timely, freely, and explicitly, upon all subjects touching the duties of my office.
We have no blank commissions for Aids de Camp; therefore forward one made out to Charles Quincy Clapp Esquire for your signature. You will doubtless recollect that you directed me to issue an order announcing the appointment of Thomas D. Robinson and George Thatcher Junior Esquires, which I immediately passed down to the Major Generals; and presuming the commissions had been delivered I directed the order to be inserted in the last Argus.
Gen. McCobb has appointed William R Webb his Aid de Camp in place of Major Robinson, if his commission has been forwarded.
