Dear Sir
Your favor of the 30 Ulto. is before Mrs. D. & myself who regret, that I am to be engaged at a Court every day from the 27th. Sepr. to the 18 Oct. or till the meeting of the Legislature I have tried to dispense with attendance, but can not for [one word blotted out] besides my duties as a Judge, I am called as a wit.s to Worcester where the whole property or 3 Individuals may be affected by my absence - pleasant as this town would have been I must abandon it this year - Should you & Mrs. King still conclude to go give us the pleasure of a visit either going or returning.
I want much conversation with you and shall now be deprived of 20 days opps - you know my aversion to writing upon all subjects & particularly political ones give me then a little time to converse when you come to Boston -
In a day or two I shall be able to state to you the balance recd. for you in the sale of the Reserve - Mrs. Dana sends her love to Mrs. King - And we pray you both to accept our most sincere regards -
Saml. Dana
