�I Daniel Lambert of Bangor in the County of Penobscot aged sixty three do [humbly] testify & say. that [are] or about the first of January 1781 according to the best of my [recollation] I inlisted into the service of the United States, I being [them] of the town of Wiscasset into Capt.. John Baileys Company + Col. Cooks Regt.. for three months. We marched to [Rhoad] Island; where I served out my term of inlistment : and [then] inlisted again into the [Jam] Company + Reg.. for nine months : I served this [term] out. being still at Rhoad Island: I then inlisted again into the [Jam] Company + Regt.. for the term of one year: We continued on the Island. about two or three months: and then marched to Providence : when we continued for the name = [NOTE: can not interpret word following "name"] of the [so] term: We were [then] marched to Boston where I was pad no [depreciated] paper Money + was [regulary] discharged: This discharge is since last, having [serve ] [NOTE:can not interpret word after "[serve]"] as I expect.
