[Notice to Senators of their election to fill vacancies]

Page of Brunswick, Daniel Rose Esqr of Boothbay and George Ulmer Esq of Lincolnville that they have been duly and constitutionally elected in convention of the two houses, Senators of the State of Maine, and to request their immediate attendance to aid the Senate in their discharge of public business.

In Senate June 1st 1820. Read & passed. Sent down for concurrence. Read and concurred. sent up.

[Convention to qualify Governor]

Agreeably to assignment the two Houses met in convention, when William King Esqr, accompanied by the Treasurer and Secretary of State pro. tem. attended by the sheriff of Cumberland, came in, and look and subscribed the oaths prescribed by the Constitution to quality him for discharging the duties of Governor of the State of Maine. [Proclamation made of his qualification]

Proclamation was then made by the Secretary of State pro. tem. that William King Esqr is Governor of the State of Maine, and now duly qualified to exercise all the functions of that office, and that all persons in the exercise of public trusts, whether in a civil or military capacity, and all the good people of this State are required to render to his public acts and commands all due obedience and respect accordingly.

The Governor, Secretary and Treasurer of State pro. tem, and [also the] Sheriff of Cumberland then withdrew.
