[Remonstrance of Elijah Grant & als agst election of Thomas Eastman] Remonstrance of Elijah Grant and others - against the election of Thomas Eastman, together with sundry depositions on the same subject - Read and committed to the standing committee on elections

[Pay of members] Agreeably to assignment the House proceeded to the consideration of the Resolve providing for the pay of the members of the Council, Senate, and House of Representatives &c; when Mr Emery moved an amendment in these words "and be it further resolved that the several towns, districts and plantations in this state shall pay into the Treasury of the State such sum or sums as may be drawn therefrom for the attendance of any member of the House of Representatives from such Town, District, or Plantation respectively'

[Resolve read second time] Which motion after much debate was decided in the negative - yeas 30 - Nays 107 - The yeas and nays on this question having been required by a competent number of members, it was decided in that manner
