Hancock [ss]

On this 21 day of June 1820 Personally appeared before me William Crosby one of the judges of the [NOTE: can not determine the word after "the"] eastern Circut court of common pleas in [including] the county of Hancock Washington and Penobscot. being a court of record by the [Laws] of [state] with [laws on] fine and imprisonment I Joseph Gordon aged 61 years resident in Belfast in [said] county of Hancock who being first [duly] sworn [according] to [law] [doth] [on] his oath declare that he served in the revolutionary war [as] follows to [NOTE: can not interpret the word following "to"] as a private 12 months in 1776 in Capt Jeremiah Sulivans company in Col [Nitrary] Regiment in the Massachusetts line [NOTE: can not interpret words following "line" and before "1777"] 1777 [Running] the [I am working this inlistment ledger] first [combated] in [babb Robinson company] in the 2nd Regiment New Hampshire line of all [in] [NOTE: can not determine next 2 words following "[in]"] Declaration before the [said] judge on the 6th Day of April [1820] and [have] [NOTE: can not interpret word following "[have]"] my pension certificate therefor No 9076 and i Joseph Gordon aforesaid, do solemnly swear, that I was a resident citizen of the United States on the eighteenth day of March one thousand eight hundred and eighteen, and that I have not since that time, by gift, sale, or in any manner whatever, disposed of my property, or any part thereof, with intent thereby so to diminish it as to bring myself within the provisions of an act of Congress, entitled " An act to pro-vide for certain persons engaged in the land and naval service of the United States in the Revolutionary War," passed on the eighteenth day of March one thousand eight hundred and eighteen, and that I have not, nor has any person in trust for me, any property or se-curities, contracts or debts, due to me ; nor have I any income, other than what is con-tained in the schedule hereto annexed, and by me subscribed Joseph Gordon Hancock ss. June 21 1820 SUBSCRIBED and sworn to before me [Will Crosby] One of the Justices of said Court
