To His Excellency the Governor and the Executive Council-

Whereas Seth W Smith the present agent of the Passamaquoddy Indians has held the office in all a full term of three years- We the undersigned citizens of Perry & vicinity believing that the public interest would be promoted by his removal and the appointment of a new agent- Cheerfully recommend Isaac Bearce as a fit man to hold that office and respectfully ask his appointment.
