[Message from the House assigning time for choice of Senator to Congress]

A message from the House, by Mr Child their clerk - "Mr. President - the House of Representatives have assigned tomorrow at 11 oclock on their part for the purpose of choosing a Senator for the United State's Congress." -

At 12 oclock the two Houses met in convention agreeably to assignment of yesterday, and proceeded to the election of seven counsellors to advise the Governor in the executive part of his duty. -

The whole numbers of votes given in was 151 - Necessary to constitute a choice - 7b. and Isaac Lane Esq. had 134 William Chadwick had 148 James McLellan Esq. had 147 Joshua Gage Esq had 151 Daniel Merrill Esq had 119 Elias Stowell Esq had 145 Jonathan Farrar Esq had 143 - and they were severally declared to be elected.

The two Houses then separated - after which the Senate adjourned, to half past two o'clock PM.
