[1823 January 4.]

[S J Court addl. term of Bangor.]

On motion of Mr Case - Ordered that Messrs and Whitney with such as the House may join be a committee to enquire into the expediency of establishing by law an additional term of the Supreme Judicial Court at Bangor - Read passed and sent down for concurrence. Came up concurred. Messrs Abbot Pratt and Stockwell were joined. -

[Counsellors acceptance.]

Letters were received from the following gentlemen - elected - Counsellors viz - Isaac Lane William Chadwick Joshua Gage and James McLellan Esquires signifying their acceptance Read and sent down. -

[Senator to Congress chosen.]

The Senate now proceeded agreeably be assignment to elect on their part a Senator to the United States Congress. The whole number of votes given in was nineteen - necessary to a choice 10. Hon. John Chandler had nineteen and was consequently elected on the part of the Senate -

A message was then sent to the House informing them of the result of the election -

The following petitions committed in the House to the Joint Standing Committee on Interior Fisheries came up for concurrence viz -

Petition of Selectmen of the town of Waldoboro' praying that an act regulating the fisheries in said town passed by the Legislature of Massachusetts may be repealed
