Senate January 17th 1823. -

[Message to the Governor]

Mr. Green was charged with a message to the Governor informing him that Jonathan Farrar Esquire had been duly qualified to act as a Counsellor the current year, by taking & subscribing the oaths required by the Constitution.

Report of the Committee on the petition of John Wise, read & accepted and sent down for concurrence, came up nonconcurred: The Senate recede from their vote by which they accepted the report, and recommit the subject: sent down for concurrence: came up concurred. -

Mr. Tallman from the Committee, on the petition of Jacob Goodwin & others for a Bank at South Berwick, reported that they have leave to bring in a Bill with Capital stock of one hundred thousand dollars: Read, accepted and sent down for concurrence. -

[Pet: William Frost & als]

Petition of William Frost & others for alteration of a law passed March 16, 1821, to secure to owners their property in logs, masts, spars &c in Androscoggin river, was read and referred to Messrs. O'Brien & Usher with such as the House may join; sent down for concurrence came up concurred, and Messrs. Leach, McCobb & Johnson were joined. -
