To all who shall see these Presents.

Greeting:

Know Ye, That William Burleigh of South Berwick in the County of York, Esquire, on the third day of November, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty three, was chosen by the People of this State, legally qualified therefore, a Representative, to represent them in the Congress of the United States of America, for the term by the Constitution of said United States expressed, commencing with the fourth day of March 1823, at the times and places, and in the manner of holding elections prescribed by our Legislature, agreeably to the powers therein vested by the Constitution aforesaid.

In testimony whereof, I have caused the seal of the State to be hereunto affixed. Given under my hand at Portland the eighteenth day of November, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty three, and in the forty eighth year of the Independence of the United States of America.
