Governor of the State of Maine,

To all who shall see these Presents,

[to the left is a circle with "Seal." inside it and "Albion K. Parris," written under it]

Greeting:

Know Ye, That Ebenezer Herrick, of Bowdoinham, in the County of Lincoln, Esquire, on the twelfth day of September, in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and twenty five, was chosen by the People of this State, legally qualified therefor, a Representative, to represent them in the Congress of the United States of America, for the term, by the Constitution of said United States expressed, which commenced with the fourth day of March 1825, at the times and places, and in the manner of holding elections, prescribed by our Legislature, agreeably to the powers therein vested by the Constitution aforesaid.

In testimony whereof, I have caused the seal of the State to be hereunto affixed. Given under my hand, at Portland, the seventh day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty five; and in the fiftieth year of the Independence of the United States of America.
