Greeting

Know Ye, that Rufus McIntire, of Parsonsfield, in the County of York, Esquire, on the tenth day of September, in the year of our Lord; one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven; was chosen by the People of this State legally qualified therefor, a Representative, to represent them in the twentieth Congress of the United States of America, in the place of the Honorable William Burleigh, deceased, at the times and places and in the manner of holding elections, prescribed by our Legislature agreeably to the powers therein vested by the Constitution of the United States.

In testimony whereof, I have caused the seal of the State to be hereunto affixed. Given under my hand at Portland the twenty fourth day of October, in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven; and in the fifty second year of the Independence of the United States of America.
