To all who shall see these Presents,

Greeting:

Know ye, That Joshua Cushman, Esquire, on the sixth day of November, in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and twenty, was chosen by the People of this State, legally qualified therefor, a Representative, to represent them in the Congress of the United States of America, for the term by the Constitution of the said United States expressed, commencing with the fourth day of March next, at the time and places, and in the manner of holding elections, prescribed by our Legislature, agreeably to the powers therein vested by the Constitution aforesaid. In testimony whereof, I have caused the Seal of the State to be hereunto affixed. Given under my hand, at Portland, the sixteenth day of December, in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and twenty; and in the forty fifth year of the Independence of the United States of America.
