[Counsellor & qualified] Agreeably to assignment the two houses met in convention at 11 oclock when Joshua Gage Esq came in and took and subscribed the oaths prescribed by the constitution to qualify him for the office of Counsellor

[Report of committee on the printing in part] The committee appointed by an order of both houses to contract for such printing as the State might require the present political year, reported in part the proposals of the several printers in Portland — which were read and the report accepted — Sent up for concurrence

[Motion to discharge printing committee —] [— lost —] Immediately Mr Sprague of Hallowell moved that the foregoing committee be discharged from the further consideration of the subject referred to them — The yeas and nays being required by more than one fifth of the members present, the question was decided in that way. 59 yeas — 64 nays—.

[Report on pet. of Elias Bates] The committee on the petition of Elias Bates reported leave to bring in a bill. The report accepted in the Senate came down for concurrence — and the House concurred.

[Bill - respecting Henry Bates &c] Bill giving to Henry Bates and others children of Elias Bates the rights of legitimacy — read a 1st & 2nd time and monday next at 10 oclock assigned for a 3d reading.

[Report on Governors Message relating to the Northern & Eastern Boundaries] The committee to whom was referred so much of the Governors message as relates to the northern and eastern boundaries of the State reported a a Resolve. The report accepted in the Senate, came down for concurrence — and the House concurred.
