98 [Report - on admeasurement of Boards &c —] [— refused a passage —] The committee to whom was referred the consideration of an Act for the admeasurement of Boards timber and scantling — reported that the same ought not to pass — The report was accepted and the bill refused a third reading.

[Committee - to provide agst distribution of spirituous liquors - at town Meetings] On motion of Mr Thomas of Eden, Ordered, that Messrs Thomas of Eden, Drury of Temple and Cobb of Cape Elizabeth be a committee to take into consideration the expediency of passing a Law requiring the Selectmen of towns and assessors of plantations to prohibit the sale and distribution of spirituous liquors on town meeting days at the place where such meetings are held - with leave to report by bill or otherwise - read and passed.

[Petition - Shopleigh] [- Berwick] [- Sandford] Petitions - of the inhabitants of Shapleigh that all the Judicial Courts in York County may in future be held at Alfred — of the inhabitants of Berwick upon the same subject - also of the inhabitants of Sandford upon the same subject - were severally read and referred to Messrs Belcher of Farmington, Downes of Calais & Wilkins of Norway.

[Report - Cumberland & Oxford Canal Corporations -] The committee appointed to enquire what alterations if any should be made in the act incorporating the Cumberland & Oxford Canal Corporation — reported a bill. The report accepted in the Senate came down for concurrence — and the House concurred.
