[Report - of whole expense of printing to the State &c] The committee appointed to ascertain and report who have been employed to do printing for the State with the amount of their accounts respectively made a detailed report which was read and accepted.

[petition of John may -] Petition of John May for a new trial in an action brought by John Jacobs against him & tried at the June Term 1804 of the S. J. Court in Kennebec County — read and referred to the committee on New trials — Sent up for concurrence.

[Major General 1st Division chosen.] [Gen. Simon Nowell] Agreeably to assignment made on Friday last the House proceeded on their part by ballot to the election of a Major General to fill the vacancy in the 1st Division of the Militia of this State — and on counting the ballots it appeared the whole number given in was 135 necessary to a choice 68 and that Simon Nowell had 73 and was chosen on the part of the House. The Clerk was requested to communicate the same by message to the Senate.
