within four days after the meeting of the Legislature to lay before the House of Representatives a detailed printed account of the Treasury and at the same time to report to the House if there be any Clerks, Sheriffs or other officers who are delinquent and have not paid over the sums in their hands due the State — read or passed.
[Convention proposed to qualify Counsellors.] Message from the Senate by Mr Sewall their Secretary — Mr Speaker, The Senate propose a convention of both houses at 12 o'clock this day for the purpose of qualifying James Collins Counsellor elect to enter upon the discharge of the duties of that office - and the Secretary then withdrew. The House concurred and the Clerk was requested to acquaint the Senate therewith.
[Treasurer to report the probable receipts & expenditures for the ensuing year] On motion of Mr Gardiner of Gardiner, Ordered that the Treasurer of the State be requested to lay before this House a statement of what sums of money are due to the State & uncollected and what will be the probable receipts into the treasury and calls upon the Treasury for the year ensuing — read and passed.
[Committee - to consider the expediency of requiring County Treasurers to make annual report &c] On motion of Mr Prentiss of Paris, Ordered, that Messrs Prentiss of Paris, Knight of Falmouth and Parker of Brooksville to be a committee to consider the expediency of passing a law obliging County Treasurers to make an annual report to the inhabitants of their Counties of the State, of their respective treasuries with leave to report by bill or otherwise — read and passed.
