which I trust, we can say with confidence is in accordance also with those sentiments that animate the whole people of our State. From such men associated with such measures, we can safely calculate on the remaining important concerns between the two States being closed in a manner mutually interesting. Permit me to hope that this proposition will be received in the spirit in which I am sure it is intended and that it may receive your early and particular attention.
