Bill "to provide for the education of Youth" Read a third time and passed to be engrossed as amended and taken into a new draft. Sent up for concurrence.

Committee on Engrossed Bills report as duly engrossed. Bills "defining the general Powers and Duties of Turnpike Corporations." "to provide for the packing and inspection of picked and smoked fish". "to prevent fraud and perjury" "concerning the Toll Bridge at Lincolnville". which were severally passed to be enacted.

[Resolve - compensation to James Bridge & als]

Resolve allowing compensation to James Bridge, Albert Newhall & William Swan, came down from the Senate endorsed as follows viz. "In Senate March 5 1821 The Senate nonconcur in the amendments adopted by the House and adhere to their former vote. The House now reconsider their vote of 3d inst and so far recede therefrom as to pass this Resolve as taken into a new draft in concurrence with the vote of the Senate of 26 Feby last.

[Governor to be notified of the election of Gen. James McLellan]

Ordered that the Secretary of State be requested to inform the Governor that the two Houses of the Legislature have elected Brig. Gen. James McLellan of Bath a Major General to command the fourth Division of the Militia of this State. In Senate
