Petition of Alna Lodge to be incorporated - of Committee of Dixfield & Mexico for authority to sell ministerial lands - of Selectmen of Peru for authority to sell school lands - of Samuel L Valentine member of Hancock Lodge for an act of incorporation were, severally read and referred to the committee on the incorporation of Parishes & other Religious Societies and ministerial and school lands. Sent up for concurrence.

Report, on the petition of Gershom Flagg & others granting leave to withdraw - came down accepted for concurrence and the House concurred.

[Wm. B Sewall - appointed Scribe]

A letter was received from the Secretary of State informing the House that he had engaged William B Sewall Esq as a Scribe - pursuant to the order of the House passed yesterday.

[Resolve - Elisha Douglass]

Resolve, granting a pension to Elisha Douglass - was read a second time & passed to be engrossed in concurrence with the Senate.

[Bill - Courts in York & Cumberland]

Bill fixing the times of holding the Courts of Common Pleas within the Counties of York & Cumberland - was called up & referred to Messrs Wallingford Chase & McCobb.

Report on petition of Japheth L Washburn & others that the northerly part of China may be incorporated into
