130 Report - Somerset Lodge Report on the petition of Somerset Lodge to be incorporated, granting a bill, came down accepted for concurrence - and the House concurred.

Bill - Stearns Pond Canal Bill, to incorporate the Proprietors of Stearns Pond Canal was, read a 3d time & passed to be engrossed. Sent up for concurrence.

Committee - abolishing imprisonment for debt. On motion of Mr Wilkins, Ordered, that Messrs Wilkins, Crowell of W. & McIntire be a committee with such as the Senate may join, to consider the expediency & practicability of providing by law a prompt & efficient method for enforcing the payment & collection of debts without imprisonment therefor, with leave to report by bill or otherwise. Read & passed.

Bills - enacted - The committee on engrossed bills reported as duly engrossed, Bill, to incorporate the Proprietors of Lewiston Bridge - - authorizing the sale of ministerial & school lands in the towns of Dixfield & Mexico - which were severally passed to be enacted. Sent up for concurrence.

Resolves - do The same committee reported as duly engrossed, Resolve, in favor of Joseph Houston - - confirming the doings of the Selectment of Unity - which, were severally finally passed. Sent up for concurrence.

Pet. Eliza Dow Petition of Eliza Dow for a divorce - also Remonstrance Remonstrance, of Ephraim Moulton against petition of the Selectment of Thomaston, were severally read & referred to the committee on New trials. Sent up for concurrence.

Petition - Thomas Haven & als Petition of Thomas Haven & others for authority to
